Last week, while I was visiting Jineen, we decided to run downtown to look for this little cupcake place that I had found on line. It's in downtown Franklin and it's called "Ivey Cakes".
When we walked in we were mesmerized by the yummy cupcake flavors and the eye-catching icing piled on top of every one! Chocolate with chocolate ganache, peanut butter and chocolate, coconut dream, strawberry cake with strawberry icing (my fav) and many more! Sinful. When you bite into these heavenly desserts they literally fall apart in your hand because they are so moist! It is the perfect cake. We decided to buy a dozen so the kids would have several to choose from after dinner.
The lady at the counter was so sweet and was explaining to us how Ivey makes all of her cupcakes from scratch and how young and energetic she is! Another customer walked up as we were choosing our flavors and she said, "Wow, who buys a dozen Ivey Cupcakes!" I told her that 12 cupcakes weren't nearly enough to repay Jineen for what she was doing for me...and we began to share our story. Both ladies were in tears right away! It was such a precious moment for Jineen and I. Rarely do we get to tell our story, together. The customer told us that she had adopted 2 little girls and that she understood the pain of not being able to carry your own baby. It was a very tender and special moment...all over a dozen gorgeous cupcakes! It just reminded us of how special this journey truly is; how blessed we are that He chose us to travel this road and how God is still using our journey to touch the lives of people who hear about it. It's just beautiful.
I would kill for one of those cupcakes right now.
